Alex Davydov’s Story:
Around 1990 I started my Martial Arts training. I was bullied as a child due to racism in my country. One day my older brother "Vova" started training in Kyokushin Karate system under direct lineage of Maso Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin.
I decided to join him, of course. Monkey see, monkey do ;-). I enjoyed the program so much, that I was attending every single session. After only a few months, my Instructor was booted out of the rented gym due to non- payment.
I asked my father to look for a Dojo for us and obviously there were none. My father asked me to invite my instructor over the house to speak with him. After a quick conversation, my father hired Sensei to become our private instructor.
Sensei was really tough on us. I remember him breaking a 6 inch log on my back while I was performing a Kata (a choreographed fight sequence). We would train for hours. I remember Sensei had a sweet tooth and would drink 10 large mugs of tea with 5 spoons of sugar after each session. Mind you, sugar was a deficit back then.
Through my training, I developed Strength, Confidence and an Indomitable Spirit. These character traits followed me to my adult life and made me extremely successful in everything I did. I wrestled in high school and did well. I competed in martial arts and did extremely well. I fought in the cage and did well and of course, through hard work, became a successful businessman.
After graduating from Brooklyn College with Honors, I decided that I will be opening my own Dojo. After showing my first location to my father, he was totally against it as there were too many dojos and programs already in the same area. Nevertheless, being young and ambitious, I decided to open.
Due to my determination and drive, with the help of my brother and friends, we rapidly accelerated the business. I wanted to make sure our dojo did well to make my father proud. I started educating myself by traveling to seminars, reading books and taking courses. Whatever I learned, I immediately implemented. Some ideas worked and some didn't. The key here was the motivation and drive to succeed.

Due to this successful journey, I've started investing in real estate, stock market and in venture capital.
After publishing this book, I've realized there is so much more that's missing. So there will be another addition coming out very soon, but this is a must read for any Business Entrepreneur or get motivated or even if you're planing to open something in the future.
